If you've completed our beginners 6 week course and want to continue with your studies or if you're an intermediate potter then this is the class for you.
Every week you have full use of the tools, equipment and glazes in our workshop to work on your individual projects. We do demonstrations to give you new ideas and techniques most weeks. We keep the classes to 8 students maximum to give you space to work. There's 5 potters wheels, a big handbuilding table and you get your own pigeonhole to keep your bits and pieces and part finished work in. You must fit all your work within this pigeonhole as theres no extra space available so no sinks or toilets to be made please!
We have a variety of glazes, underglazes, coloured slips and watercolours for you to decorate your pots with. We use B17c grogged stoneware clay. It's great for many different projects including raku and cookware. We have a small amount of porcelain available if you want to make smaller pieces like brooches or earrings. We have an extensive library full of pottery books and art books along with a whole back collection of ceramics magazines to give you inspiration.
You come every week on the same day and it's 6 consecutive weeks but if you have a holiday booked in we can move a class or two forward. Unfortunately we can't move classes forward due to illness or if you don't give us at least a weeks notice. Please make sure you can attend the full 6 weeks as there's no refunds or transfers on the classes.
When you get to the end of your 6 weeks, we keep your space free for you if you want to continue straightaway. Just pay for your next set of classes on the last session and start again the next week.If you can't start another set straightaway we will fill your space then pop you on the waiting list and let you know when the next free space comes up.
We take card payments at the workshop, BACs, or Paypal. Please note that Paypal payments incur a handling fee of £3.60 so the total to pay via Paypal is £103.60
BACs and card payments do not incur any extra charges.
You must be aged 16 plus to attend our classes and be able to stand for the durtion of the class. Some physical strength is needed for wedging clay and using the extruder amongst other activities.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, give us a ring or message us to see if there's any spaces free on your preferred night. If there's not, we will pop you on the waiting list and notify you when a space becomes available.
