The Festival is the highlight of our events programme, bringing together almost 100 rustic entertainers, crafts people, local producers and wildlife experts.
It's a fantastic fun filled event for all the family with lots to see and do, look out for all the old favourites and something a little bit different!

RAKU EVENT Family Sculpture Day Gateshead Family Sculpture Day (26 Sep) 11am – 4pm
Family sculpture day is a free event held annually at Saltwell Park Gateshead.
We provide tonnes of wood, tools and all the nails you need. Eight professional artists will be on hand to help you create and capture your ideas in wood.The event also features the exciting art of Raku Pottery. Using the ancient Japanese technique, you can paint your tile with special glazes, watch it being fired in the kiln and then take it home as a souvenir of your day. Live music will add further to the atmosphere with hammer tapping rhythms.
